"SHOWTIME" our annual dance recital, will be held on Friday, June 3rd, and Saturday, June 4th, 2011. Staging and dress rehearsals will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, and Thursday, June 2nd. All rehearsals and "SHOWTIME" are held at the Hastings City Auditorium.  SHOWTIME 2011 will be our 26th Annual show!!

COSTUMES

Costumes are ordered and used for "SHOWTIME". Payments for this year are due by December 9th, 2010. Approximate cost per costume is $40.00-$60.00. Costumes are ordered from professional costume companies. In order to insure delivery in time for picture day and recital, costumes must be ordered and paid for in advance. The costumes are paid for by the students and are theirs to keep after the show. Students are measured in class. You may provide us with their current sizes, although each costume company is different with their size charts. If in question, we always order the larger size. There are no refunds on costumes. Only in extreme cases can a costume be exchanged for a different size. This is due to all the policies of each costume company and the fact that costumes are only made after placing an order and are not normally in stock. We try to order “two in one” and “three in one” costumes whenever possible, for the combination classes. Some of the costumes require some type of simple assembly, which consists of a small amount of sewing (straps, Velcro, hooks & eyes, etc.) The costume companies do not do this part of the assembly so that each student can fit the costume individually.

OTHER COSTS

Recital fee: $30.00 per student, due the first week of March.
Tickets: $8.00. (Approximate cost)

CAMERAS/VIDEOS

If you wish to take flash pictures or videotape your child during "SHOWTIME", you must do so during dress rehearsal. No video cameras or flash photography are allowed during performances. Please explain this policy to all visiting friends and relatives, also. To videotape a performance that is being professionally videotaped is against Federal Copyright Laws. Taking flash photos during any theater performance is distracting and dangerous to the performers and is also an infringement on choreography copyrights. We would like to thank you for your cooperation in the past; it is greatly appreciated!

REHEARSALS

There will be two dress rehearsals and two performances. Students in any combination classes are involved in only one show. All other classes are involved in both shows. We hold staging rehearsal during the day of dress rehearsals. Staging rehearsals are held to help the dancers become acquainted with the space on stage and their entrances and exits. Staging rehearsals are held for all students. All students are also involved in the Finale, which is performed at the end of each performance. At dress rehearsal the Finale is rehearsed first, so that each group may be dismissed as they are finished on stage. This will cut down on the amount of time that students are at rehearsal. Some classes may be required to stay and run their dance again. On the day of performance, students may not leave until after the Finale. We ask for your patience and cooperation during these long hours of rehearsal and performance. Students have worked hard throughout the year to achieve a new level of dancing and this is their opportunity to show what they have accomplished. This is the most exciting and important part of the year for the students – "SHOWTIME"!!

PICTURES

Pictures in costumes are taken by Winkelbauer Photography in May after costumes arrive. Pictures are taken at T’Dance in Studio 1. There are several options of items to order from. Orders are not taken in advance. The proofs of photos taken are on display at both staging and dress rehearsals and orders are taken then. Dates for pictures this year are Friday, May 13th and Saturday, May 14th.

VIDEOS

Professional DVD’s and videotapes of the performances are done by Mr. Video Productions of Omaha. Order forms will be available in the spring. You may order one night or both performances. Orders are taken through the studio, at rehearsals and performances, or may be placed by calling 1-800-MRVIDEO or online at www.mrvideoonline.com
